How Much Fire Glass Do You Need?
Fire Glass is a decorative topping, so you only need enough to cover the surface of your fire feature with a layer approximately 1 ½" to 2" deep. For the rest of the space, use a filler material like lava rock to raise the level to where the fire ring sits.
Be sure to check your Fire Feature's product page for specific recommendations on how much Fire Glass it can hold.
Installation Tips:
- Screen Material: To prevent the Fire Glass from sinking below the lava rock, we recommend using a screen material. Stucco lathe (available at local hardware stores) works well as a screen, ensuring your Fire Glass stays in place.
- Once the screen material is set, simply pour the Fire Glass on top for a flawless, stunning look.
